Desk Report:
The Asia Cup is almost over. The curtain will fall on Asia’s biggest tournament tomorrow with the India-Pakistan final. There are injury problems in the Indian camp before the title-deciding match against the arch-rivals.
After a breathtaking and dramatic battle, India defeated Sri Lanka in the Super Over in the last match of the Super Four. Which will give them extra confidence before the final against Pakistan. Despite winning the thrilling match, there are some worries in the team. Hardik Pandya and Abhishek Sharma left the field due to injuries in the match against the Sri Lankans.
Batting first in Dubai, India scored 202 runs. In reply, Sri Lanka was stopped at an equal score. However, they could not manage it in the Super Over. Suryakumar Yadav reached the target of 3 runs given to them after playing just one ball.
Hardik came to bowl the first over of the Sri Lankan innings, who came out to chase the huge target given by India. During this time, he was seen suffering from hamstring discomfort more than once. So the star all-rounder was forced to leave the field after that over. Abhishek left the field in the ninth over. The tournament’s highest run-scorer left the field after feeling discomfort in his right thigh. India’s bowling coach Morne Morkel spoke about these two. He gave good news about Abhishek. However, the former South African pacer is waiting for Hardik.
Morkel said, “Hardik had a cramp in his leg. He will be observed. Then we will decide whether he can play the final against Pakistan or not. There is no worry about Abhishek. Both of them had cramp problems.”
“Rest is the most important thing for the players before the final. They took an ice bath. Recovery started after the Super Four match against Sri Lanka. Sleep and resting the legs are the best way to stay healthy now. I hope they sleep well.”
